This is because you bet Rs 100 on each of the three numbers, and as per the payout (Rs 80 for every Rs 1 invested), you earn Rs 8,000. How Result are Selected?

With 50 archers and 30 arrows each, a total of 1,500 arrows shot. Out of these, 843 arrows hit the target, and the rest miss. The result of that round will be 43.
Struggles of Shillong Teer
There is no exact data on when this game started. But the format of this game is no doubt very old. With time, people started to put money into this game as a gambling source, and it continued for a couple of decades. Soon, the state government banned this game around the 1970s, as it would affect the upcoming youth because the game was not organized; there were not many rules and regulations, and money fraud was a common thing. But the influence was so strong that the game kept going on secretly for a couple of decades.
In 1982 new government of Meghalaya took a bold decision and decided to unban the game. At that time the CM of Meghalaya was Captain Williamson A. Sangma who held the political power while deciding to organise this game. Under the Meghalaya Amusement and Betting Tax Act of 1982, the State government and the Chief Minister of Meghalaya officially regulated the game.
Since the game is very stable and going for a couple of decades without disruptions.
